Excellence without compromise

At Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology we see patients with skin diseases and problems of all types including rashes, hair and nail disease, lumps and bumps, cosmetic blemishes, sun damage, skin cancer and melanoma. Many of the patients referred to us are seeking treatment for skin cancer - the most common form of cancer in Australia. We are able to offer highly specialised treatments for skin cancer and other skin conditions in a state-of-the-art facility. Conveniently located in Mount Hawthorn, our facility is licensed by the West Australian and Commonwealth Departments of Health under the Hospitals Act and is ISO Health Quality Assured Standard 9001:2008 as well as having membership of the Australian Private Health Association (APHA). This demonstrates that Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology has achieved the very highest standards in construction, equipment, policies, record keeping, procedures and governance which translates into safe and quality care for patients.

We receive referrals from general practitioners, dermatologists, surgeons, ophthalmologists, oculopastic surgeons and other specialists. We also receive referrals from Royal Perth, Fremantle, Princess Margaret and Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital.

At Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology we take pride in our professional, highly skilled staff. We use the latest in modern equipment and techniques. We strive for excellence without compromise, and will do everything we can to make your experience here as safe and pleasant as possible.

Whilst we treat all skin diseases our special interest and expertise at Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology is in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and melanoma. One of our primary treatment options is Mohs Surgery - a microscopically controlled serial excision (MCSE) technique used to treat skin cancer. In Western Australia we are the only State and Commonwealth licensed and ISO Health Quality Assured Day Procedure Unit performing Mohs Surgery.

Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology also offers laser surgery for a wide range of skin diseases, some skin cancers, benign skin tumours and sun damage. Specialised techniques for skin cancer such as Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) are also available. In our Bunbury and Geraldton branch offices we offer phototherapy (light treatment) for psoriasis, eczema and other skin diseases as well as specialised treatments such as the use of biological agents (injection treatment) for severe psoriasis.

The Oxford Day Surgery and Dermatology medical team is headed by two Consultant Dermatologists, Clinical Associate Professor Carl Vinciullo and Dr Harvey Smith.
